DESERT COLLIDER Drop Debut ‘Generation Ship: Endless Drift Through Infinity’
Italian psychedelic desert rock outfit DESERT COLLIDER has officially released their debut full-length, Generation Ship: Endless Drift Through Infinity, via Small Stone Recordings. The album, which blends stoner, metal, space rock, and progressive rock, is streaming now.

The premiere for Generation Ship: Endless Drift Through Infinity came just before its official release on Friday, March 6th. Fans can find the record through Small Stone Recordings. You can stream the album HERE.
DESERT COLLIDER draws on the hypnotic grooves of ’90s desert rock. Their sound is expansive and immersive, with hints of Kyuss, Lowrider, Monster Magnet, and Yawning Man. It’s a solid stoner style, balancing heavy riffs with deep, atmospheric textures and a cosmic vibe.
After a year of working on their sound, DESERT COLLIDER recorded the album at Stone Bridge Studios. Andrea Cola handled production and mixing, and Karl Daniel Lidén (Lowrider, Dozer) mastered it. The eight tracks deal with themes of self-loss, rediscovery, a longing for the primitive, and the inner journey. The album shifts between heavy and atmospheric parts, adding synths and acoustic interludes to its modern psych-stoner rock arrangements. The concept also takes cues from Robert A. Heinlein’s novel Orphans Of The Sky.
Andrea Cola also contributed additional strings and string arrangements on “ThumpeRRR” and “Far Centaurus: Drifting Without Guidance Through Interstellar Space.” Francesca Santini did the artwork and design, with layout by Alexander von Wieding.
The record is available on CD and digital, plus a limited 180g vinyl edition (200 units on Amber Sandstorm).

What Others Are Saying:
“It’s everything the overly long title of the album promises, a wonderland of lazy, fuzzed-out riffs, mind-tweaking sonic explorations and sci-fi weirdness. And the blissed-out heaviness these dudes are laying down feels like an Italian Kyuss-Hawkwind mash-up.” – Decibel Magazine on “ThumpeRRR”
“I don’t usually spend much time with music that bleeds into stoner music, but DESERT COLLIDER is different. The base layer is comprised of thick, molten guitars oozing from the speakers like a pyroclastic flow on top of which are progressive and atmospheric melodies and subdued vocals, all of which fold you into their embrace. It can be a bit trippy at times, casting your mind into scenes of lonely caravans crossing trackless deserts, but shifting that setting to the emptiness of interstellar space for a subtle twist. The heavy reverb of Black Sabbath and Trouble is certainly in DESERT COLLIDER’s DNA, as are proto-metal progenitors like Led Zeppelin and Hawkwind along with newer bands like Elder.” – Metal Crypt
“…an adventurous and brilliantly heavy journey into the far reaches of modern-day psych stoner rock/metal that you’ll find very hard to beat… a must have…” – Outlaws Of The Sun
“An extensive debut that almost defies expectations and always knows the right moves to make, it’s in the whole of this effort that we see talent unbound with the passion to keep it all fun and engaging in such a form that’s simply overwhelming at times. When in the right hands, we can be given something astounding. For all that happens within the stellar grandeur of Generation Ship: Endless Drift Through Infinity, one cannot help but know that DESERT COLLIDER’s hands are undoubtedly the right ones.” – Headbanger Reviews
