Voidchaser Announces Second Album Interstellar I, Drops April 9th

International progressive metal outfit Voidchaser is set to release their second full-length album, Interstellar I, on April 9th. The record comes via self-release and continues the band’s journey from Montreal and Stockholm.

Interstellar I explores themes of technological overreach, mass corruption, and personal struggles with identity, love, and survival. It all plays out within a vast, lore-filled deep space universe. Musically, Voidchaser balances a dense, layered sound with high-energy choruses and memorable melodies. Every moment serves the storytelling.

You can expect sounds reminiscent of Devin Townsend’s Ziltoid the Omniscient and Dream Theater’s Systematic Chaos, but reinterpreted with Voidchaser’s own modern touch. They also pull from classic foundations like Deep Purple’s Machine Head and Black Sabbath’s Paranoid. This release marks a new level of maturity for the band, defining their most ambitious and realized work yet.

If you’re into Devin Townsend, Haken, Dream Theater, Scar Symmetry, Ayreon, or Pagan’s Mind, then Voidchaser should be on your radar.

Voidchaser formed in 2023, quickly establishing themselves on both local and international stages. They’ve earned attention from niche outlets like The ProgSpace and Prog Sphere, as well as major metal media such as Metal Injection and Decibel Magazine.

Their debut EP, Odyssey, dropped in 2024, followed by two singles and their first full-length, Solace. That concept album, a continuous 30-minute composition set in an orbital dystopia, charted among the top metal albums in Canada, Sweden, Norway, and other countries. In 2025, they released the Trust EP, featuring guests like Jim Grey of Caligula’s Horse. The same year, Voidchaser hit the road for their first international tour across Canada and Europe, sharing stages with bands like Vulkan, Threshold, and Kingcrow. They even played ProgPower Europe and the inaugural ProgStorm Festival in Montréal.
