Ohio sludge quartet RADIAN is hitting the road this May for a Midwest US tour in support of their third full-length, Subterfuge. Following recent gigs with The Obsessed, Acid Bath, and Midnight, the band is taking their heavy, groove-laden riffs across six states.
If you haven’t spun it yet, Subterfuge is a concept record set in an alternate-history modern Egypt that fought off the Roman conquest.
It follows a protagonist fighting to protect his culture from a greedy cabal. It’s a direct parallel to modern exploitation and system collapse, backed by massive sludge riffs that bleed into doom, punk, and death metal territory.
The album was recorded and engineered by Mike Burns, with bass tracking by Brian “BeZo” Zorich. Sanford Parker (Voivod, YOB) handled the mix, and Collin Jordan (Eyehategod, Spirit Adrift) mastered it.
